Paulien is a researcher at the Division of Building Materials, Lund University. She holds a MSc degree in Architecture, Building and Planning from Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, and a PhD in Technology from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Paulien studies the use of rest materials from agriculture as resources for circular building materials, one such example being hemp-lime, with main focus on hygrothermal properties.
Paulien has worked as a building physics consultant in the building sector for many years parallel to working as a researcher an is active in the building sector initiative LFM30, working towards climate neutrality in the building sector in Malmö.
